Bright Threads with a Second Life
This multicolor boho floor sofa began as a handwoven rag rug from Morocco. Ribbons of red, cobalt, teal and yellow run across a soft ivory ground. The weave feels chunky and substantial under your hand, dense with colour. Sink down and you meet the honest texture of cotton worked entirely by hand.
Woven on a traditional loom, the flatweave gathers up remnant cotton and gives it new purpose. Because these fibers are upcycled, no two sofas share the same run of stripes. Tightly packed, the surface holds up to daily lounging and years of use. Moreover, you can order it as a cover only or complete with filling to suit your comfort.
Asala Living pioneered this idea in 2022, reworking handmade Moroccan rugs into floor sofas. Ready to go, this piece ships from our Marrakech workshop right away. Then lay it along a sunroom wall or a shaded terrace for easy, low seating. For lovers of colour and slow living, it invites everyone to gather and stay.
