A Sun-Faded Berber Rug Reborn as Low Seating
Deep coral wool meets sun-faded rose and soft apricot across this coral floor sofa. At its centre, a slate-grey stepped medallion anchors the whole composition. Years of use have softened the long pile, so every cushion feels plush and lived-in from the very first sitting. Meanwhile, flecks of charcoal and cream drift through the shag like brushstrokes.
Asala Living pioneered this concept in 2022, transforming handmade Moroccan rugs into floor sofas. Here, our artisans cut and hand-stitched one hand-knotted vintage rug into a seat cushion and five pillows. Because the original rug guides every cut, the grey bands and faded tones fall differently on each piece. As a result, no two sets are ever alike.
