Handmade by Berber women artisans in the Azilal region, Beni Mellal-Khenifra province, this ivory Azilal floor sofa carries a visual language that predates the written word. The cream wool pile ground — soft underfoot and warm to the touch — holds dark brown abstract symbols: lozenges, chevrons, stylized figures, and geometric forms. Because no two hands ever mark the same thing twice, each panel differs slightly from the next.
The set arrives complete — a thick pile cushion base, three full-length back pillows in matching Azilal fabric, and two white linen accent pillows for contrast. Asala Living pioneered this concept in 2022, transforming handmade Moroccan rugs into floor sofas. As a result, each piece preserves the rug’s original integrity: no shortcuts in construction, no departure from the artisan’s intention.
