Ancestral Berber Symbols for Slow, Grounded Living
Low and generous, this terracotta majlis sofa brings the warmth of a Moroccan salon into your home. The handwoven base glows in rose-terracotta tones. Across its surface, mustard bands and plum glyphs trace a quiet language of Berber symbols. Each pillow repeats these marks, so the whole set reads as one story.
Asala Living pioneered this concept in 2022, transforming handmade Moroccan rugs into floor sofas. Our artisans tailor a handwoven flatweave into a fitted cover and five matching pillows. Because hands, not machines, shape each motif, every symbol carries slight irregularities that confirm its handmade origin. Moreover, the close flatweave keeps the cover neat and smooth through daily use.
Ready to go, this set ships from our workshop without waiting on production. Place it in a living room, reading nook or sheltered patio, as it suits indoor and outdoor settings alike. You can order it as a cover only or complete with filling to suit your comfort. Either way, the terracotta majlis sofa invites long, unhurried evenings close to the floor.
